Ho hoo!

What’s next, what’s next, what’s next they ask?

What else does she have up her sleeve?

Has she found a job yet? It’s been a while? (No I hadn’t)

What’s she doing now?

It’s mid May in Auckland, New Zealand – fall season on this side of the world.

I moved back to Auckland and officially decided this is where I’ll call home for my time in New Zealand. It’s warmer, busier and has more variety in people, places and things to do.

Great. So then, what next? I go to Australia!

(Didn’t see that one coming did ya?)

While I was in Christchurch for a month, two friends of mine (A Jamaican and Vincentian studying in Auckland, NZ for their masters) called me up and said “Do you want to come to Australia with us? We’re planning a 5 day road trip and we remember you saying you wanted to come if we were going. The airline is having a sale on flights until midnight tonight (meanwhile it’s 10pm eh) – let us know”

I hem and I haw, call my people in Antigua (mainly my parents) to get some advice, talk to some friends, check my bank account (again and again) and think to myself – can you do this? Are you really going to do this? Is this crazy?

Answer to all those questions? “Yes”

But, by 11.59pm my ticket was bought and I decided I’d figure everything else out after – a trip to Australia doesn’t come by very often so, just do it.

And I did.

Read the story about this Australian trip in my next post here!
